
Cloutier, Neilson and Beechey Names Second Team All ECHL

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots are proud to announce that goalie Frederic Cloutier, defensman Corey Neilson and center Tyler Beechey have been selected to the Second Team All ECHL as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches.
Cloutier has played in 46 games for the Ice Pilots this season posting a record of 30-12-3 with a 2.39 goals against average and .927 save percentage. He is currently second in the league among goalies with 30 wins and fourth in the league with 1,350 saves.
Cloutier is in his fourth pro season and was named to the 2001-2002 All ECHL First Team and All Rookie Team during his first year in the league with Louisiana and was also named the 2001-2002 ECHL MVP, 2001-2002 ECHL Rookie of the Year and Goaltender of the Year. He was selected by The Hoc! key News as the top goaltender in the ECHL in the publication's March 15 issue. Cloutier is 23 years old and is from St. Honore DeBeauce, Quebec.
Neilson has played in 69 games for the Ice Pilots this season and is the top scoring defenseman in the league with 61 points and also leads all defenseman with 18 goals and 43 assists. He ranks second among all players with 32 points and represented the Ice Pilots for the second straight season in the ECHL All-Star game as a starter.
Neilson is in his second season with the Ice Pilots as he was named the ECHL Defenseman of the Year last year and made First Team All ECHL. He is 28 years old from Oromocto, N.B. and was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the third round and 53rd player taken overall in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
Beechey has played in 54 games for the Ice Pilots this season scoring 27 goals, 39 assists for 66 points. He currently leads the Ice Pilots with 27 goals and is tied for second on the team in scoring. Be! echey is currently with St. John's of the AHL as he has played in 10 g ames with St. John's scoring 2 goals, 5 assists for 7 points.
Beechey represented the Ice Pilots this season in the ECHL All-Star game as the starting center for the American Conference and is in his second season with the team. He is 23 years old from Edmonton, Alberta.
The Ice Pilots will play at Mississippi tonight at 7:35 p.m. Fans will be able to listen to the game on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network with flagship station AM 1620, Cox Communications Channel 2, www.icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue and as a pay per view webcast offer at www.icepilots.com for $6 in conjunction with B2 Networks.
Ice Pilots Hall of Famer's Chad Quenneville and Shane Calder will present the Brabham Cup to the Ice Pilots team before the game vs. Mississippi this Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
The Brabham Cup will be on the display during the game and fans will have the opportunity to take pictures of the Brabham Cup by bringing their own camera. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase c! ommemorative special Brabham Cup t-shirts. The t-shirts will have the name of the players on the back. It is a one time special only with the Brabham Cup t-shirts as only 1,000 will be made and will be sold only at Saturday's game. Fans will be able to get the t-shirts autographed after the game as the players will be signing autographs.
Also, all Ice Pilots merchandise will be discounted 40 percent at Saturday night's game only (Brabham Cup t-shirts not included). A jersey auction will also take place after the game on the Ice Pilots home and away game worn jerseys. Fans who win the jerseys will be able to receive them once the Kelly Cup Playoffs are over.
Saturday night's final home game of the regular season vs. Mississippi at 7:05 p.m. is sponsored by Sam's Club and the Children's Miracle Network. Fans can purchase $15 or $13 tickets for the game at Sam's Club as a portion of the proceeds of ticket sales will go to the Children's Miracle Network. Fans can contact Ga! ry Schonour at 484-7508.
Every fan who attends the game on Saturday will receive a voucher for a one year subscription to the Sporting News magazine. The grand prize of $2,500 for the Florida Lottery Spin Off will be announced.
The Early Bird Renewal for season tickets is over. However, Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr was very pleased with the response and there is a new plan being offered as long as the Ice Pilots play hockey through the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Fans can put down a $50 deposit and will not have to pay the rest of the balance until September 1st.
