4,443 hockey fans were on hand at Credit Union Centre to watch the Saskatoon Blade beat the Red Deer Rebels 3 to 0 in the opening game of the Eastern Conference Quarter-Final.

Saskatoon-Gogol (Brent Benson &Teigan Zahn) 1st Period-14:20

Curt Gogol (Hometown) notch the team's first post-season goal and his first post-season goal as a Blade by beating netminder Darcy Kuemper stick side.

Saskatoon-Gaelan Patterson (Walker Wintoneak, Stefan Elliott)-16:42(PP)

Gaelan Patterson (Saskatoon, SK) capitalized on the power play

Saskatoon-Gaelan Patterson (Sam Klassen)-17:54

Patterson extended the Blades lead with his 2nd of the night from a pass by Sam Klassen as the initial shot by Sam Klassen was deflected.

2nd Period & 3rd Period

The Blades shutdown Red Deer played throughout the 2nd & 3rd period to take the win.

Between the pipes Steven Stanford made 24 saves for the shutout in his first career post-season win. The Blades went 1/6 on the power play and 2/2 on the penalty kill.

3rd Star- #16 Curt Gogol
