Saskatoon - 2nd - Patterson (Stefan Elliott) 2:02 sh Patterson tied things up early in the middle frame on his 20th of the season and 5th shorthanded marker on the campaign. The 19-year-old carried the puck down the left wing on a 2-on-1 and elected to shoot, beating goaltender Todd Mathews.

Kootenay - 2nd - Jesse Ismond (Hayden Rintoul, Max Reinhart) 2:54 pp The Ice moved back out in front on the first of two on the night from Ismond, a native of Kindersley. Kootenay's power play worked it around before it ended up on the stick of Ismond, who beat Morrison with his 18th of the year.

Kootenay - 2nd - Ismond (Joe Antilla, Dominik Pacovsky) 7:12 Ismond made it a 3-1 hockey game on his 19th of the season less than five minutes later. The 18-year-old fired a shot that was redirected into the Blades' net off of a body in front.

Kootenay - 2nd - King (Boomer) 11:57 pp King gave the Ice a three-goal lead on his second of the night a little under five minutes later. The now 20-year-old took a feed from Boomer and put it home for his 22nd on the campaign.

Saskatoon - 3rd - Benson (Walker Wintoneak, Tyler Kizuik) 8:28 Benson made it 5-2 on his 7th goal of his rookie campaign for the Blades. The 16-year-old pounced on a rebound in front of the Kootenay net and hammered it past Mathews.

Saskatoon - 3rd - Boyer (Lukas Sutter, Travis Toomey) 9:15 Boyer brought the Blades back within two on his 9th of the season. The veteran forward hit the scoresheet after taking a feed in front from Sutter (Lethbridge, AB), a 16-year-old call-up who earned his first WHL point with the assist.

Kootenay - 3rd - Boomer 15:18 Boomer halted the Blades' comeback with his 23rd goal of the year. The 19-year-old blocked a shot from a Blades defenseman in his own zone, moved in all alone, and beat Morrison.

Final score Kootenay Ice 6, Saskatoon Blades 3.

The Blades then match up with the Vancouver Giants on Friday night.
