Kyle Beach's third goal of the game 4:12 into overtime gave the Spokane Chiefs a 4-3 win in a wild finish in front of a sold-out crowd of 10,530 in the Spokane Arena. Tri-City forced the game into overtime after scoring with an extra attacker on the ice as the clock ticked down to below four-seconds remaining, but Beachs third hat-trick of the season gave the Chiefs their third win in a row and 34th of the year.

Spokane's Tyler Johnson scored from the left wing just 48-seconds into the game to put the Chiefs on top 1-0. The Americans Mason Wilgosh evened the game at 5:23.

After Spokane's Mitch Wahl hit the post, Beach put the rebound in at 9:44 to give the Chiefs a 2-1 lead through one and forced the Americans to pull their starting goaltender, Alexander Pechurskiy, after he gave up two goals on seven shots.

Beach's second of the game came 2:57 into the second when he ripped a wrist shot past Drew Owsley, who came into relieve Pechurskiy in net. Jared Spurgeon and Tyler Johnson assisted on the goal.

The Americans pulled within one at 14:14 with a power play goal in the slot by Sergei Drozd.

Neither team scored in the third until Johnny Lazo's goal in a net-front scramble with 3.8 seconds remaining tied the game at three. The goal came after the Americans won a face-off in the Spokane zone and was able to get a shot on net. A review by the WHL Video Goal judge saw Lazo tuck the puck just inside the right post before Chiefs goaltender James Reid could get to it.

In overtime, Mitch Wahl broke in on Drew Owsley and after he was stopped, Beach tipped in a loose puck in the crease for his career high 40th goal of the year. Jared Cowen also assisted on the play.

Reid stopped 43 shots in his 28th win of the year.

Spokane will host the Everett Silvertips, winners on Saturday night and a three point leader over the Chiefs for fourth place in the Western Conference, on Monday afternoon at 3:00.

Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Chiefs ticket office at (509) 535-PUCK or TIcketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
