Blades Fall to Lynx 4-2

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades (32-19-11) were defeated by the Augusta Lynx (23-33-5) 4-2 in front of a sold out crowd of 7,181 at TECO Arena on Saturday night. Augusta forward Andrew Williamson notched two goals in the Augusta win.

The Everblades struck first and made it 1-0 in the first period on the power play after a Brian Goudie shot from the point found its way into the net at the 3:56 mark of the first period. Forwards Tom Buckley and George Awada picked up the assists on Goudie's 6th goal of the season. The Lynx came right back to tie the game at one apiece after left wing Brad Ralph scored on the power play at the 6:18 mark of the first period.

The Lynx then took a 2-1 lead just :34 seconds into the second period when Andrew Williamson picked up his 24th goal of the season. Later in the second period, forward Tom Buckley broke free and fired the puck past Lynx netminder Tom Draper at the 10:24 mark of the period. Augusta then took the lead back on a tap in goal off the stick of forward Jeff Swez at the 11:07 mark of the second period. The Lynx then closed out the scoring in the third period after forward Andrew Williamson added his second goal of the night.

Florida goaltender Rob Zepp (20-12-7) stopped 20 of 24 shots he faced while Augusta netminder Tom Draper (4-4-1) stopped 17 of 19 shots he faced. The Everblades were 1 for 3 on the power play while the Lynx were 2 for 7.
