Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals announced today that Jeremy Symington has been recalled to Binghamton of the American Hockey League, and will travel with the team for tonight's game against the Bridgeport SoundTigers. To back up Marco Emond, the Jackals have signed goaltender Cam McCormick to the roster.

Symington, in his second season with the Jackals, won UHL All-Rookie Honors last year as the Jackals made the Colonial Cup Finals. This year he attended Hershey Bears Training Camp before coming back to Elmira, where he has gone 7-12-4 with a 3.42 GAA and .898 save percentage. Symington has also posted two shutouts this year, against Rockford and Kalamazoo.

In his place the Jackals have signed rookie netminder Cam McCormick to the team. McCormick will accompany the team to Glens Falls when the Jackals play the IceHawks this evening. The 6-2, 220 lb. goaler spent three years with UMass-Lowell, notching a 13-6-3 record his final year with a 1.88 GAA and .920 save percentage. He has played for San Diego (WCHL), Florida (ECHL), and Flint (UHL) earlier this year.

The Jackals take on the Adirondack IceHawks tonight at 7:30 pm at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Pre-game show starts at 7 pm on WiNGZ 104.9 with Tom Callahan.
