Today's Games

Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs for the first two games of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Park (Game 1, 6:05 p.m.). The teams will resume last night's game, which was suspended in the 4th inning, before playing a second seven-inning contest. Following this series with the IronPigs, Buffalo will travel to Syracuse for a Thruway Cup matchup with the Chiefs.

Where we left off...

Last night's game was suspended before the bottom of the 4th inning with Lehigh Valley holding a 2-0 lead on the Bisons. IronPigs second baseman Cord Phelps is due up to lead off the bottom of the 4th. Darin Ruf has driven in both runs of the game for Lehigh Valley, with a groundout in the 1st inning and single in the 3rd.

The Bisons are 7-1 against Lehigh Valley this season, having outscored the IronPigs, 43-18. The Herd swept four games in Buffalo, April 16-19, and won three of four at Coca-Cola Park, April 23-26. Dating back to last season, the Herd has won 19 of their last 24 against the IronPigs.

Andrew Albers

LHP ANDREW ALBERS will be first out of the bullpen for the Herd in Game 1. The lefty has not pitched since June 7 in Louisville where he allowed six runs in just three innings of work. Albers will be relieving LHP FELIX DOUBRONT, who started yesterday and allowed two runs in three innings of work.

Jeff Francis

LHP JEFF FRANCIS will get the nod for Game 2 of tonight's doubleheader. The southpaw will be making his fourth start for the Bisons. Francis last pitched on June 11, scattering six hits over four shutout innings in a no-decision against Charlotte. Francis owns a 1.50 ERA in his three starts this season (2 ER in 12.0 IP).

Matt Hague

INF MATT HAGUE'S International League-best batting average of .348 is 13 points higher than any other hitter in the league. Hague also leads the IL in hits (81), doubles (19), total bases (114) and on-base pct. (.427). He also ranks 3rd in runs scored (35), 2nd in slugging pct. (.489) and is tied 3rd with 31 walks on the season.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays' (34-31) saw their 11-game win-streak snapped yesterday with a 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Mets. Jose Bautista homered twice in the loss. The same two teams play at Citi Field tonight (7:10 p.m.) in a battle between former Bisons hurlers; Scott Copeland vs. New York's Matt Harvey.
