LOUISVILLE, KY - A bases loaded, two-run single by Eury Perez in the top of the 13th inning propelled the Gwinnett Braves (31-32) to a 4-3 win over the Louisville Bats (32-33) Monday night in the opener of the three-game series at Louisville Slugger Field.

With the score tied 2-2 the pivotal top of the 13th, Sean Kazmar led off with a double to right-center field off of Bats' right-handed reliever Nick Christiani and moved to third on a bunt single by Barrett Kleinknecht. Daniel Castro grounded out to third, which kept Kazmar at third but allowed Kleinknecht to move to second. The Bats opted to walk Cedrick Hunter to set up a double play, but Perez followed with the big hit, a single to center through a pulled-in infield that scored both Kazmar and Kleinknecht for a 4-2 lead.

Behind right-handed reliever Ryan Weber, Gwinnett had to hold off a Louisville rally in the bottom of the inning. With two outs, and no one on, Steve Selsky dropped a single into right field and moved to second on defensive indifference. Josh Satin lined a single to left, scoring Selsky to cut the Gwinnett lead to 4-3.

Ramon Cabrera singled to center to put two on, and a wild pitch by Weber moved runners into scoring position at second and third. Yorman Rodriguez walked to load the bases, but Weber got Hernan Iribarren to ground out to first to end the game.

The G-Braves took the early lead in the top of the first when Joey Terdoslavich drilled a two-out double to right off of Louisville right-handed starting pitcher David Holmberg. Terdoslavich then scored when Christian Bethancourt singled to left field in his first G-Braves at bat in 2015.

The Braves added a run in the top of the second, as Eric Young, Jr., blasted a solo home run on the first pitch of the inning from Holmberg for a 2-0 lead.

Behind the pitching of righty Alex White, Gwinnett carried the 2-0 lead to the bottom of the seventh. However, Rodriguez lined a solo homer to right off of Gwinnett right-hander Kanekoa Texeira to cut the lead to 2-1.

The Bats tied the game with a run in the bottom of the eighth. Pinch hitter Ryan LaMarre doubled to center off of Texeira and moved to third on a single by Irving Falu. The tying run scored when former G-Brave Jose Constanza hit into a double play, pushing across LaMarre from third.
