Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Buffalo Bisons will play the completion of their suspended game on Tuesday night at 6:05 p.m. There will be a second game which is now seven innings to follow. The Pigs are leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth.
RHP Chad Billingsley (1-1, 4.74) will be on the bump for Lehigh Valley when Monday's suspended game resumes. It will mark the right-hander's first appearance since May 17 when he got the start for the Phillies against the Diamondbacks. That day, Billingsley got a no-decision after allowing two runs on seven hits while walking one and fanning two in six innings of work. Tuesday also marks his fifth appearance of the season with the IronPigs. Back on April 30 in his last game with the Pigs, Billingsley got the win vs. Durham after giving up two runs (none earned) on five hits to go along with a walk and six strikeouts over 5.2 IP.
LHP Andrew Albers (2-8, 4.33) gets the ball for the Bisons in the completion of Monday night's contest. Albers took the loss on June 7 at Louisville in his last outing after surrendering six runs on five hits in three innings of work that day. It will be his second game of the season vs. the IronPigs. On April 26 at Coca-Cola Park, the southpaw was tagged with the loss when he allowed three runs on eight hits while walking one and striking out two in 6.1 IP.
In game two, RHP Severino Gonzalez (1-3, 4.32) takes the hill for manager Dave Brundage's squad. On Thursday at Norfolk, Gonzalez took the loss after giving up two runs on five hits to go along with three walks and three strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched. Back on April 16 at Buffalo, the right-hander gave up five runs on 10 hits over five innings of work against the Bisons and was dealt the loss.
Veteran LHP Jeff Francis (1-0, 3.00) gets the start for Buffalo in game two. Francis received a no-decision vs. Charlotte on Thursday when he scattered six hits over four shutout innings and fanned four. The Vancouver, British Columbia native is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA in his 3 GS this season.
The first 2,000 fans 17 and under will receive an IronPigs Liberty Bell T-Shirt presented by NAMI-LV, Digital Oasis and InsuranceHouseCall.com. There is also the Report Card Rewards Program on Tuesday night when fans can bring a report card from this school year with at least one 'A' and receive one Field Level ticket as well as a voucher for a regular fountain soda, hot dog and box of popcorn for just $10.
