Buffalo Bisons News Release
TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Scranton/WB Red Barons in the third game of their four-game set from Dunn Tire Park (7:05 p.m.). The series is tied at one game apiece after the Red Barons won a wild, 14-9, game last night. Looking to regain the edge in the set, the Bisons will turn to RHP Brian Slocum. Last Saturday against Indianapolis, Slocum allowed one earned run in three innings of work. Scranton/WB will counter with LHP Eude Brito, who allowed eight runs (six earned) on 11 hits in 3.2 innings pitched in a loss to Ottawa on Sunday.

VS NORTH: At 15-13 (.536 winning percentage), the Bisons have the best divisional record in the International League North. Tonight's game is the third of 18 straight games against divisional opponents.
HIT STREAKS: The Bisons have their first 10-game hit streak with Ben Francisco having the honors. Francisco singled in four trips last night and has now averaged .317 (13-41) over the 10-game stretch. Entering tonight's game, the outfielder has also scored in each of Buffalo's last six games (seven total runs).
HOMER TEAM: As a team, the Bisons have now homered in nine straight games. Jake Gautreau's sixth of the year last night gave Buffalo 15 total home runs over that stretch. The Herd leads the International League with 70 home runs on the season, seven more than Columbus and Toledo (63).
BRUISED BATTER: Last night's contest featured eight hit basemen with Buffalo's Ryan Garko getting plunked twice. Garko has now been hit 16 times on the season, five more than any other IL batter and the same amount as the entire Syracuse SkyChiefs roster. At this pace, Garko would tie the Bisons Modern Era Record of 30 plunks set by Mike Kinkade in 2005.
SPEED TOO: Jonathan Van Every stole his first Triple-A base last night. Last year with Double-A Akron, Van Every stole 16 bases to go along with the second most home runs (27) in the Eastern League.
ROSTER MOVE: The Cleveland Indians made it official by purchasing the contract of pitcher Jeremy Sowers today. Sowers leaves the Herd as the Triple-A leader in ERA (1.39). At 9-1, he also is T1st in the IL in wins and shutouts (2), while leading the Bisons in starts (15), innings pitched (97.1), quality starts (11) and strikeouts (54, with Hyang-Nam Choi).
