TONIGHT'S GAME: The third of a four game series and the third of 12 meetings with the Indians, the third of six at Victory Field. Game three of an eight game road trip. The Braves were 4-8 vs. the Indianapolis last season, 2-4 at Victory Field. This is the 23nd of 48 games vs. West Division opponents, Richmond is 9-13 vs. the West Division. The tenth of 24 road games vs. West Division opponents (Richmond is 4-5). The Braves are 52-67 all- time vs. Indianapolis. The Braves are fourth in the South, 23 and a half games behind first place Charlotte. The Indians are first in the West by one game over Louisville.

SUSPENDED GAME: Jonathan Johnson pitched four scoreless innings as Richmond beat Indianapolis, 3-1, on Friday in completion of a suspended game at Victory Field. The win ended a club record 12 game losing streak. Johnson allowed one hit, walked one and struck out four. Brian O'Connor started and gave up one hit and struck out three in three scoreless innings before rain halted play. Wayne Franklin gave up an unearned run on one a hit in the eighth and Manny Acosta worked a scoreless ninth to earn his third save as Richmond snapped a 12-game losing streak. The Braves held a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning on Thursday when rain in Indianapolis prompted the suspension. In the regularly scheduled game Friday the Indians edged the Braves 1-0 in eight innings (the game was scheduled for seven). Chris Truby slapped a walk-off single in the eighth to chase home the only run of the game. Jonah Bayliss picked up the win with three innings of no hit relief. Peter Moylan took the loss. Ricardo Rodriguez pitched seven scoreless innings for the Braves.

TO THE TOP: In the 74th roster move of the year for the Richmond Braves, right handed pitcher Kevin Barry was sent to Atlanta earlier today. Kevin Barry, with 63 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.26, will be the fifteenth player that Richmond has sent up this year. Barry has had a very good year, including a stretch of 30 innings pitched during which he only allowed one run. Barry Has walked only five out of his last seventy-two batters faced.

THEY CALL IT A STREAK:. Brayan Pena has hits in 8 straight games (13-32 .406). Michael Ryan has hits in eight of the last 9 games he's started. The Braves have 10 or more hits in four of their last five games and 60 in their last six. Tuesday, the Braves ended a streak of four straight games in which opponents scored first inning runs. Richmond has not had a stolen base in their last nine games. Brian O'Connor has allowed just one run in his last 17.2 innings pitched. Richmond is 20 games under .500 and 23 and a half games out of first place, both season lows. Starting today the Braves are slated to face four straight left handed starting pitchers.
