Today's Game
Tonight, the Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the final fridaynightbash! of the season at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The PawSox won 1-0 last night so the Herd needs a victory tonight to split the two-game series. The Bisons' final homestand of the year continues tomorrow with the first of three against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
vs. the Red Sox
The Bisons are 8-5 against the Red Sox this season, needing just one more victory to clinch the season series. These teams will meet again at McCoy Stadium, Sept. 5-7, to end the season. Eleven of the 13 games between the clubs this year have been decided by three or fewer runs.
Andrew Albers
LHP ANDREW ALBERS makes his 14th start and 19th appearance for the Bisons today. The southpaw threw two shutout innings in his last appearance on August 23. Albers is 2-2 with a 4.88 ERA in eight games at Coca-Cola Field this season. He is 1-1 with a 5.02 ERA in three starts against the PawSox this year.
MattVP
INF MATT HAGUE'S league-best 167 hits are just 14 shy of the Bisons modern era record of 181, set by Jhonny Peralta in 2004. Hague would need to collect just over a hit a game the rest of the way out to break the record as the Bisons have 11 contests left. Hague looks well on his way to setting new Bisons highs will his league best average (.349) and on-base percentage (.427).

The Bisons have been involved in 30 shutouts this season, three more than any other IL team and 23% of the 133 games they've played so far. Buffalo played in a total of 34 shutout games in the last two years combined. Buffalo is 12-18 in those games with the 18 shutout defeats their worst total in the modern era. While the Bisons have lost 1-0 seven times this year, they have also won 2-0 on five occasions.
