Orioles Make Three Roster Moves

The Orioles today announced that they have reinstated CA STEVE CLEVENGER from the paternity list, selected the contract of OF DARIEL ALVAREZ from Triple-A Norfolk, and optioned OF HENRY URRUTIA to Triple-A Norfolk.

Clevenger, 29, is batting .370 (17-46) with four doubles, a home run, and seven RBI in 13 games with the Orioles this season, including five multi-hit efforts and a .390 (16-41) batting average against right-handed pitchers. He was placed on the paternity list on August 25.

Alvarez, 26, batted .275/.305/.424 (141-512) with 24 doubles, two triples, 16 home runs, and 72 RBI in 130 games with Triple-A Norfolk this season. He currently leads the International League in at-bats (512), ranks tied for first in games played (130), third in total bases (217), fourth in hits (141), and fifth in RBI (72). He was selected to the 2015 Triple-A All-Star Team and won the 2015 Triple-A All-Star Home Run Derby, the first Norfolk player to appear in the event since 2004. Over 721 career minor league games, Alvarez hit .293/.335/.447 with 123 doubles, 15 triples, 80 home runs and 385 RBI. Alvarez's first appearance with the Orioles will be his Major League debut. He will wear No. 12.

Urrutia, 28, hit .265/.306/.382 (9-34) with a double, home run, and six RBI in 10 games with the Orioles this season.
