Pigs Look to Capture IronRail Trophy

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs can capture the "IronRail" Trophy for the second straight year with a win over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Friday night. First pitch from PNC Field is set for 7:05 p.m.

The Pigs trail 9-8 in the season series, but will even the series with the win and capture the "IronRail" trophy by virtue of winning the last game of the year between the two teams.

RHP Alec Asher (2-0, 2.08) gets the ball for manager Dave Brundage's squad in the series finale. Asher earned the win in his last start on Saturday at Pawtucket when he surrendered five hits while fanning three in seven shutout innings. Thus far in 4 starts with Lehigh Valley, opponents are hitting just .136 (3-22) against Asher with runners in scoring position.

RHP Kyle Haynes (2-1, 5.06) will be on the bump for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday night. Haynes got the win on Sunday at Rochester after giving up one run on three hits to go along with two walks and four strikeouts in seven innings of work. The Woodbridge, Va. native was 2-6 with a 3.20 ERA in 27 G (11 GS) with Double-A Trenton this season.

Pigs INF Chase d'Arnaud extended his hitting streak to nine games with hits in both ends of the doubleheader on Thursday. In that time, d'Arnaud is hitting .368-1-4 with two doubles, three stolen bases and six runs scored.
