Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons take on the Columbus Clippers in the second game of a three-game series from Coca-Cola Field (6:05 p.m.). The Herd has won seven of its last 10 games in downtown Buffalo but are just 10-12 overall at home this season. Tonight the Bisons will close out their first winning May (16-12) since 2012 (17-13).

Last Game (COL 5, BUF 4)

The Clippers defeated the Bisons in 12 innings last night on C Adam Moore's two-out RBI-single off RHP Chad Jenkins. The score was tied 4-4 from the 5th inning until Columbus scored in the 12th. OF Domonic Brown had three hits in the loss, including a two-run double.

vs. Columbus (3-1)

The road team has now won all four games in this series. The Bisons swept the Clippers last week by a combined score of 22-14. With a win today, the Herd can clinch their fifth straight season-series victory over the Clippers. The series will end with tomorrow's 10:35 a.m. School Kids morning game.

Drew Hutchison

RHP Drew Hutchison earned his first career Triple-A victory last Thursday in Columbus. Making his 15th start as a Bison, Hutchison allowed just three hits over 5.2 innings in Buffalo's 13-10 win. The righty threw a Bisons' season-high 109 pitches in the win. Prior to that game, the Herd had scored just 28 runs in his previous eight starts.

Jesus Montero

DH Jesus Montero has hit in nine straight games since May 19 with a .358 average (15-39), two doubles, two home runs and six RBI. He has six multi-hit performances during the streak and is now 8th in the IL with a .306 average overall. Montero already has a 13-game hit streak to his credit this season, April 15-29 (19-57, .333).

Ben Rowen

RHP Ben Rowen has made eight consecutive scoreless appearances for the Bisons, a 10-inning stretch that began on May 8. The side-armer has allowed just four hits while striking out nine during the streak. On the year, Rowen has allowed just one of 15 inherited runners to score.

Bisons Bits

The Bisons are 16-12 in May despite a -9 run differential (99-108). Ironically, the Herd had a +1 run differential in April (83-82) but was 10-13 that month...C A.J. Jimenez is 14 for his last 40 for a .350 average since May 13...SHP Pat Venditte has struck out 21 of the 49 batters he's faced or 42.8%...Tomorrow is the Bisons third and final morning start of 2016. They are 2-0 in such games already this year.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays' (27-26) doubled up the Yankees, 4-2, on Monday night. Former Bisons' SS Ryan Goins went 2-2 at the plate with his third home run of the year. Toronto recalled Bisons' RHP Ryan Tepera before yesterday's game and designated INF Jimmy Paredes for assignment. The Blue Jays host New York again tonight at 7:07 p.m.
