TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Charlotte Knights in the second game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd lost last night to Knights by a score of 4-0. The Bisons start an eight game roadtrip on Tuesday with four in Louisville and four in Indianapolis.
vs. KNIGHTS: Charlotte are the final non-divisional opponent to visit Coca-Cola Field this season. The Bisons split a four-game set in Charlotte earlier this year (May 11-14). Since their return to the International League in 1998, Buffalo is 29-28 (.509) when they host the Knights.
HARVEY : RHP MATT HARVEY takes the hill for his 20th start of the season -the fifth pitcher in the IL to reach 20 starts this season. The righty is coming off of two straight quality starts, with 10 strikeouts in 12.2 combined innings of work. Harvey has 106 strikeouts on the season, third most in the International League. The total is also tied for the 10th most in a single season by a Bisons pitcher in the modern era.
SILKY: INF JOSH SATIN had two walks last night and has now reached base at least twice in 10 of his last 12 games. Satin also has a walk in nine straight contests (15 total walks) and 25 total free passes in his last 19 games. Satin's .407 on-base percentage is the second best in the International League while his .296 batting average tops all Bisons hitters.
STARTING STRONG: Since the All-Star break, Herd starters are 2-1 with a 2.87ERA in eight games. The group has combined to allow just 17 earned runs in 53.1 innings of work with 51 hits allowed and 49 strikeouts. The rotation has allowed four earned runs in just one of nine starts since the break.
BISONS BITS: INF OSWALDO NAVARRO extended his hit streak to four games with a base hit yesterday. In his last eight games, Navarro has averaged .333 (8-24) with four extra-base hits and seven RBI...C ROB JOHNSON also extended his hitting streak to four games last night with a base hit...RHP JENRRY MEJIA recorded two scoreless innings of relief last night...RHP JEREMY HEFNER was recalled by the Mets today for the third time this season.
METS UPDATE : The Mets (47-46) lost to the Dodgers last night by a score of 7-6. Former Bison INF JORDANY VALDESPIN hit his fourth pinch-hit home run last night, tying a club record. RHP MIGUEL BATISTA takes the mound for the Mets against the Dodgers this afternoon from Citi Field (1:10 p.m.).
