vs. Toledo (2-1)

The Bisons took two of three from the Mud Hens last week at Coca-Cola Field. Buffalo is looking for their first season series win over Toledo since going 5-3 against the Hens in 2008. That was also the same year the Herd won its last series at Fifth Third Field (3-1).

Winning Ways

Buffalo started May just 1-4, but have gone 14-5 in the 19 games since May 7. The Herd's win yesterday clinched the team's first winning May since 2012 when the club went 17-13 in the month. The Bisons did not reach 15 road wins until June 19 last season (34th away game).

Scott Diamond

LHP Scott Diamond makes his team-best 10th start tonight. The southpaw has allowed three runs or less in seven of his nine outings, including May 16 when he defeated the Mud Hens with 7.1 innings of one-run baseball. Diamond has allowed just one home run and 10 walks to the 222 batters he's faced this year.

Junior Lake

OF Junior Lake is the first Bisons' player to homer in back-to-back games in 2016. Lake has seven RBI in his last seven games and is 13 for his last 38 (.342) since May 15. He has also scored seven runs in his last six contests.

Jesus Montero

DH Jesus Montero's team-best 14th multi-hit performance yesterday raised his average to an even .300 -11th best in the International League. Montero 51 hits are 4th best in the IL, with the last 10 coming as part of a six-game hit streak over which he has averaged .385 (10-26).

Bisons Bits

The Bisons 18 saves are four more than any other IL pitching staff...INF Casey Kotchman has a four-game hit streak (7-12, .583) and a four-game walk streak. He has a .706 on-base pct. since last Saturday.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (24-25) earned a series win in New York thanks to their 3-1 win over the Yankees on Thursday. LHP J.A. Happ gave up just one run on three hits over seven frames to improve to 6-2 on the season. DH Edwin Encarnacion had the big hit with his two-run single in the third.
