TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Norfolk Tides in the second game of a four-game series from Harbor Park (7:15 p.m.). The Herd lost last night by a score of 7-5. The Bisons are coming off a 2-6 homestand and have lost five straight for the first time this season. Buffalo is 18-17 as the road team this season.
vs. TIDES: The Bisons and Tides split a four-game series in Buffalo, June 9-12. Buffalo has had tremendous success at Harbor Park, losing just one of 14 series they've ever played in Norfolk. Overall, the Bisons are 37-20 in the Tides' home ballpark, good for a .649 winning percentage.
HARVEY: RHP MATT HARVEY will make his IL-leading 15th start tonight. The righty is coming off a quality start against Pawtucket on June 14 (7.0IP, 3ER, 10K). On the road this season, Harvey is 4-2 with a 3.40ERA and 43 strikeouts in 47.2 innings of work. He is fifth in the IL with a 8.96 K/9 ratio.
ON A WIM: OF COREY WIMBERLY had four hits last night. He is the fourth Bison to do so this season and the first since INF MATT TUIASOSOPO did it on May 4 against Syracuse. In his last 10 games, Wimberly is hitting .400 (16-40) with six runs scored and eight RBI.
UPPER DEKKER: OF MATT DEN DEKKER hit his second Triple-A home run in last night's contest. Since joining the Herd on June 12, the outfielder is hitting .261 (6-23) with five extra base hits and three RBI in six games. In 58 games with Double-A Binghamton, den Dekker led the Eastern League in batting average (.340), hits (81), and doubles (21).
BISONS BITS: RHP COLLIN McHUGH suffered the loss in his Triple-A debut last night (5.0IP, 4ER, 5K). The righty was 5-5 with a 2.41ERA in 12 starts with Double-A Binghamton...LHP JUSTIN HAMPSON is tied for 2nd in the IL with six holds...RHP FERNANDO CABRERA leads the IL with 15 saves and 27 games finished on the season...OF VALENTINO PASCUCCI is third in the IL with 47 walks this year.
METS UPDATE : The Mets (36-32) defeated the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 5-0 last night. Former Bisons RHP R.A. DICKEY picked up his league-leading 11th win after tossing his second consecutive complete game one-hitter. INF IKE DAVIS hit his first career grand slam. INF JORDANY VALDESPIN hit a double and a triple for New York. The Mets host the Orioles again tonight (7:10 p.m.).
