Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons face the Norfolk Tides in the third game of a four-game series at Harbor Park (1:05 p.m.). The series is tied 1-1 with the Bisons earning a 6-3 win on Friday night. Buffalo opens a four-game series at home against Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

vs. the Tides

The Bisons are 2-4 against the Tides this season. Norfolk won the Coca-Cola Field series, 3-1, back on May 6-9. Since 1998, the Herd has 74-48 record against the Tides, including a 39-23 record on the road. Buffalo has only lost two series in Norfolk over that span.

Justin Germano

RHP JUSTIN GERMANO makes his 10th start of the season today. The righty is winless in five starts since being victorious in back-to-back road outings, April 17 in Syracuse and April 22 in Lehigh Valley. Germano is coming off a season-high 104-pitch no-decision on Tuesday in Durham where he allowed six runs in seven innings of work.

MVP Form

INF MAURO GOMEZ has homered five times in his last seven games. Since May 20, the slugger has averaged .302 (13-43) with 11 RBI and nine runs scored in 11 games. With 12 home runs on the season, Gomez leads the Bisons and is tied for 3rd among all IL batters.

Chart Topper

INF LUIS JIMENEZ has driven in at least one run in six of his last eight games. With 48 RBI on the season, the slugger leads all IL hitters by three. Jimenez also scored twice yesterday and now leads the IL with 37 runs scored. He ranks 4th in average (.348) and slugging pct. (.424).

Streaking

INF RYAN GOINS has matched his season-high with a six-game hit streak. Since May 26, he has averaged .368 (7-19) with a double, a home run and four RBI. On the season, Goins is hitting .323 (10-31) with a 3.64 on-base pct. when leading off an inning.

Bisons Bits

OF MOISES SIERRA also enters today's game on a six-game hit streak (.304, 7-23)...Ten of INF MAURO GOMEZ'S 12 home runs have come on the road this season. Seven have gone for more than one run...The Bisons are four games back of first place for the first time since April 14. After that point, Buffalo won nine straight games, April 15-23.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (23-33) fell in San Diego on Saturday by a 4-3 score. INF ADAM LIND hit his fifth home run of the season in the loss. Former Bisons RHP NEIL WAGNER tossed two shutout innings of relief. The Blue Jays look to avoid the series sweep to the Padres tonight at 10:10 p.m.
