TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons square off with the Columbus Clippers in the second game of a four-game series at Huntington Park (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons lost last night to the Clippers, 21-3. The Bisons are 2-3 on the current roadtrip and 16-14 in road games this season.

vs. CLIPPERS: The Bisons are 3-2 against Columbus this season. The Herd won the series, 3-1, against the Clippers at Coca-Cola Field from May 28-31. Since their return to the IL in 1998, Buffalo is 29-27 at Huntington Park.

RECORD CITY: The Clippers 21-3 victory last night was one run short of the Herd's worst loss in the modern era. Buffalo lost 20-1 at Oklahoma City on July 18, 1993. Ironically, Columbus was the site of the Bisons largest win in the modern era. Buffalo beat the Clippers 17-1 on April 16, 2007.

WE ARE FAMILIA: RHP JEURYS FAMILIA makes his 12th start of the season tonight. In his last start on June 1, the righty tossed six innings and gave up three earned runs in a loss in Toledo. That was Familia's first loss in eight starts, dating back to April 16 against the Iron Pigs. Familia is 3-1 with a 3.45ERA in six road starts this season.

ROSTER MOVE: The Mets have activated RHP PEDRO BEATO off his injury rehab assignment with the Bisons. The righty allowed just one run in nine innings of work over six appearances. RHP EDGAR RAMIREZ has been promoted from Binghamton (AA). Ramirez was with the Bisons May 20-27 and was 0-1 with a 3.60ERA in two outings with the Herd.

ON THE EDGE: LHP JOSH EDGIN tossed a scoreless inning of relief last night. In 11 appearances since May 13, the Triple-A rookie is 1-1 with a 1.96ERA and a save (13.2IP, 3ER). Over that span, Edgin has struck out 13 batters and allowed just nine hits.

BISONS BITS: The Bisons are 2nd in the International League in team batting average (.262) and 3rd in runs scored (265) and home runs (56)...Last night, C JEAN LUC BLAQUIERE became the first position player to pitch for the Bisons since Trent Durrington on May 5, 2007 against Pawtucket.

METS UPDATE : The Mets (31-25) dropped the first game of a three-game set to the Nationals last night 7-6 in 12 innings. Former Bison OF JORDANY VALDEPSIN hit his second career homer and OF SCOTT HAIRSTON also went deep. The Mets play the Nationals tonight behind RHP JEREMY HEFNER at 7:05 p.m.
