
Bisons' Kevin Smith hits walk-off to beat IronPigs

(Trenton, NJ) - Kevin Smith hit a walk-off RBI double against Ramon Rosso (0-2) in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Buffalo Bisons (36-24) a 6-5 win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (26-36). The IronPigs have lost three-straight games.
Smith gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning by hitting a solo home run against Mark Appel. It was his 14th home run of the season. Breyvic Valera hit an RBI double against Appel in the bottom of the second inning to give the Bisons a 2-0 lead. Buffalo added two more runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 4-0 lead.
Lehigh Valley got on the scoreboard against Nick Allgeyer in the top of the fourth inning when Mickey Moniak hit a two-run home run to cut Buffalo's lead to 4-2. The home run was his ninth of the season. The Bisons got a run back in the bottom of the fourth inning to extend their lead to 5-2 as Valera hit an RBI single against Jakob Hernandez.
Darick Hall hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning against Joel Payamps to trim Buffalo's lead to 5-4. The home run was his fifth of the season. Tyler Heineman tied the game at 5-5 in the top of the eighth inning when he hit an RBI single against Kirby Snead.
Bryan Baker (4-0) earned the win for Buffalo as he pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning. He recorded two strikeouts.
The IronPigs and Bisons play on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. from Trenton Thunder Ballpark.
