June 2, 2010 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release
TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Bisons face the Syracuse Chiefs in the third game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons ended a three-game skid yesterday, beating the Chiefs 4-1. With the win the Herd is now only one game back of the Scranton Wilkes-Barre and one-half game back of Syracuse in the International League North Division.
HOME SWEET HOME: The Bisons are 19-9 (.679) at home this season. The Herd is tied with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Columbus for the most home wins in the International League with 19.
STAYING IN THE YARD: LHP BOBBY LIVINGSTON will take the mound in tonight's game. In the 52.2 innings pitched this season, Livingston has only allowed two home runs to opposing hitters, best of the Bisons starting staff. The southpaw is 2-1 with a 3.34ERA in five starts at Coca-Cola Field.
HITTING MACHINE: OF JESUS FELICIANO continues to lead the International League with a .395 batting average that is 74 points higher than anyone else. He leads the IL with 64 hits, one more than Scranton/Wilkes-Barres' EDUARDO NUNEZ. Feliciano is also second in the IL for on-base percentage (.444). He trails only Albuquerque's INF JOHN LINDSEY (.420) for the highest batting average in all of baseball. Feliciano has hit .461 (41-89) in 25 games at Coca-Cola Field this year.
DON'T MESS WITH HESS: INF MIKE HESSMAN leads the IL in home runs (18), RBI (55), slugging percentage (.662), extra-base hits (34), total bases (129) and runs scored (39). Hessman leads in RBI for all of baseball, two ahead of Lexington's INF KODI HINZE. With 55RBI in the team's first 52 games, Hessman is on pace to drive in 152 runs this season.
PAR FOR THE COURSE: RHP BOBBY PARNELL is currently riding 6.1 innings scoreless streak lasting his past four outings. He has posted two saves in the past week. He leads the Bisons bullpen in strikeouts (34), innings pitched (30.1), appearances (18) and holds (4). Parnell is also second among current Bisons relief pitchers in saves (3) and WHIP (1.32).
