
Torch Run To Be Held At Victory Field

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Indians are proud to host the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, the largest grassroots fundraising program benefiting Special Olympics in the world, on Friday, June 4 at Victory Field.
Opening ceremonies for 2010 Special Olympics Indiana Summer Games are set to begin at 9:00 a.m. with the Torch Run scheduled to begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. The Torch Run course map can be viewed at the Special Olympics Indiana Web site at www.soindiana.org.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics was first organized in Indiana in 1987 and, since then, law enforcement officers have raised funds and awareness for the Special Olympics through numerous charitable events, including the annual running of the torch, when the "Flame of Hope" is carried to the Opening Ceremonies site at the Special Olympics Indiana Summer Games at Indiana State University in Terre Haute.
