Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons host the Syracuse Chiefs in the finale of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd is looking for the sweep after victories of 3-0, 4-3 and 7-6 so far this series. Following today's game, Buffalo's homestand continues with a three-game series with the Rochester Red Wings starting Monday.

Last Game: BUF 7, SYR 6

RHP Chris Rowley allowed just an unearned run over seven innings of work to lead the Bisons to a 7-6 victory. The righty struck out four and walked just one for his team-best third win. The Bisons broke the game open with a four-run fourth that included a RBI hits from INF Jason Leblebijian, OF Ian Parmley and OF Roemon Fields.

Today's Starter: LHP Ryan Borucki

LHP Ryan Borucki is making his fifth start of the season but his first at Coca-Cola Field. The last time Borucki started in Buffalo was his Triple- A debut, August 31, 2017 when he tossed six scoreless innings in a no-decision against Pawtucket. In his last outing, May 1 in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the lefty allowed six runs in five innings of work, suffering his third defeat of the season.

Syracuse (3-0)

The Bisons and Chiefs will play a total of 18 times this season, with 11 coming at Coca-Cola Field. Syracuse will return to Buffalo for four more games May 21-24, with the first meeting at NBT Bank Stadium coming on June 29 for three games. The last time the Bisons swept the Chiefs in a four-game series was April 15-18, 2013 in a four-game set in Syracuse that included a record-breaking 27-9 win on April 18.

Tim Lopes

INF Tim Lopes continues to lead the International League in batting with a .406 average. Lopes went 1-4 yesterday and has now hit in all but two of his 18 starts this season. With his six walks, he also ranks 3rd in the IL with a .453 on-base pct.

Dwight Smith Jr.

OF Dwight Smith Jr. was a home run away from the cycle on Saturday with a run scored and an RBI. He is now tied with C Danny Jansen for the team lead with 12 RBI on the year. Smith Jr. also tops all Bisons hitters with 10 walks for a .346 on-base pct.

Bisons Bits

The Bisons are now 9-0 when scoring first, one of only two teams (Pawtucket 10-0) that are undefeated when plating the first run...OF Ian Parmley has a hit in all six games he's started this year and is now hitting .417 in 24 at-bats...With his seven innings of work yesterday, RHP Chris Rowley is now 4th in the IL with a 1.23 ERA...The Bisons have scored and allowed the exact same number of runs (85).

Transactions

RHP Joe Biagini and RHP Danny Barnes have been activated to the Bisons. Both pitchers were optioned by the Blue Jays on Friday. RHP Connor Eller and RHP Justin Dillon have both been transferred to Single-A Dunedin.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (18-16) lost their third straight game with a 5-3 defeat to the Rays in Tampa. Former Bisons OF Teoscar Hernandez had two hits, including his fifth home run of the season while INF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. added his second homer of the year. OF Dalton Pompey also had his first hit since being promoted from the Bisons. Toronto faces Tampa again today (1:10 p.m.) with RHP Marco Estrada getting the start.
