Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons take on the Charlotte Knights in the final game of a three game series at Coca-Cola Field. It also concludes an overall six-game homestand that saw the Herd win two of three against the Columbus Clippers. After an off day on Monday, the Herd will travel to Toledo for a three game series with the Mud Hens June 5-7, as part of a nine-day road trip spanning Toledo, Columbus, and Lehigh Valley. The Herd will then return home June 14-17 as they host Rochester.

Last Game: BUF 9 CLT 2

LHP Ryan Borucki tossed his sixth quality start of the season throwing 6.0 shutout innings in the win Saturday evening. INF Jason Leblebijian hit his ninth home run of the season giving the Bisons an early lead. The Herd collectively had 11 hits, 7 walks, and 5 extra base hits to secure the victory.

Today's Starter: RHP Sean Reid-Foley

RHP Sean Reid-Foley is making his third start of the season, and is in search of his first victory with the Bisons in 2018. In the righty's last outing he went 6.0IP surrendering 5H, 3R/ER, BB. Reid-Foley also struck out 10 in the team's loss to Columbus on 5/29.

Charlotte (1-1)

The Bisons and Knights will face off for the last time in Buffalo. The two teams will play a total of 6 times in 2018. Following the three games at Coca-Cola Field, Buffalo will travel to BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, NC for a three-game series August 13-15.

Danny Jansen

C Danny Jansen went 2-3 collecting his twelfth double of the season. The infielder now leads the Herd in batting average with a .321 and is ranked 3rd in the IL. He also leads the International League in on base percentage with a .433... In Jansen's last two outing the catcher is batting 3-7 (.429) and drew two walks.

Jason Leblebijian

INF Jason Leblebijian crushed his ninth home run of the season in yesterday's win tying him for 3rd in IL standings. The infielder went 2-3 also collecting a double. He leads the Herd in RBIs with 28 and is tied with Jansen for most hits with 43.

Bisons Bits

The last time the Herd was in 1st place after June was July 16, 2007 Buffalo was 51-41 (+0.5). The Bisons have four players represented in the IL Top Ten for batting (Jansen, Lopes) and pitching (McGuire, Borucki).

Transactions

LHP Sam Moll was placed on the disabled list Friday retroactive to 5/30 and OF Randal Grichuk was activated off Toronto's disabled list. Today the team announced that OF Dwight Smith Jr. has re-joined the club after being optioned from Toronto. RHP Nick Tepesch was called up from New Hampshire (AA), while INF Richard Urena has been placed on the Disabled List.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (25-33) lost the second game of their three-game series against the Detroit Tigers 4-7 on Saturday. INF Devon Travis went 1-4. RHP Tim Mayza tossed the last out of the game. RHP Aaron Sanchez squares off against RHP Michael Fulmer in the last game of the series today (1:10 p.m.).
