Today's Game

This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons close out their three-game series against the Norfolk Tides. Buffalo will then play host to the Durham Bulls to complete a seven-game homestand. The Herd will then have a scheduled off-day on Monday before heading to Louisville and Indianapolis. Buffalo will play three doubleheaders on the road trip (7/24 (LOU), 7/27 (IND), and 7/29 (IND)) as part of the postponed games at Coca-Cola Field in April.

Last Game: BUF 7, NOR 3

RHP Sean Reid-Foley recorded his sixth win of the season, lasting six innings and recording five strikeouts. The righty gave up a first inning solo home run to D.J. Stewart, but would not allow another hit in his start. For the second straight game, the Bisons' offense erased their deficit quickly. INF/OF Darnell Sweeney started the rally with an RBI double. OF Dalton Pompey also had two RBI, without a base hit.

Norfolk (3-2)

The Bisons and Tides are finishing up their second, and final, series of the season. The last played on April 20-22 at Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA. The Herd took the middle game of the series with a 8-6 victory. Every Buffalo pitcher who threw in the series in April against Norfolk is no longer on the Bisons' active roster.

Today's Starter: LHP Matt Tracy

LHP Matt Tracy is taking his third turn in the Bisons' rotation this season, after joining the team in early July. Tracy lasted five innings against Lehigh Valley on 7/13, registering his second no decision. The lefty gave up two runs and left the game with a 7-2 lead. Buffalo would lose 14-13 in 10 innings in the game.

Richard Urena

INF Richard Urena went 1-4 on Tuesday night to extend his hitting streak to nine games. Urena is hitting 13-41 during the stretch for a .317 average. The switch hitter also added a pair of RBIs in the win for a total of 18 in 39 games with the Herd.

Dalton Pompey

OF Dalton Pompey collected two RBI after being promoted to the Bisons prior to Tuesday's game. It was his first with the Herd since 5/29.

Transactions

A host of roster moves were announced by the Bisons prior to Tuesday's game. OF Dalton Pompey was promoted from New Hampshire (AA), and C Danny Jansen was activated off of the temporary inactive list. INF Jason Leblebijian was placed on the Disabled List, retro to 7/14, and C Michael De La Cruz was placed in the DL, retro to 7/16. Also, LHP Ryan Borucki was activated from Toronto.

Bisons' Bits

The Herd is 10-35 when their opponent scores first after yesterday's game...The Tides scored early taking the lead in the second inning. Buffalo scored 2 in the fourth to take the lead and the game...Six insurance runs were scored in the seventh where the Bison's outscore their opponents 47-32...RHP Justin Shafer is currently on a seven-game scoreless streak in the bullpen, spanning 6.2IP.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto and MLB are currently off due to the All-Star break. Ex-Bison LHP J.A. Happ represented the Blue Jays at the All-Star Game and notched the save for the American League. The Junior Circuit defeated the National League 8-6 in 10 innings. Toronto will begin a six-game homestand on Friday against the Baltimore Orioles.
