Today's Game
This evening the Bisons will play game two of their three-game series against Rochester. This is the first series of the year for the two teams after Buffalo finished 8-9 against the Red Wings in 2018. The Herd will look for back-to-back wins tonight going up against RHP Kohl Stewart.
Last Game: BUF 5, ROC 0
Buffalo looks to take game two from Rochester after shutting out the Red Wings 5-0 last night. Scoring early in the top of the second inning, then securing the win with three runs in the top of the ninth helped propel the Bisons to their 17th win of the season, and first shutout of the year. Both Teoscar Hernandez and Jordan Patterson finished with 2 RBIs on the night and RHP Zach Jackson collected the win for Buffalo with two innings of relief.
Rochester (1-0)
The Bisons and Red Wings split last season's meetings almost even with the Herd taking eight games and Rochester taking nine. Buffalo snapped a four game losing streak against Rochester with last nights win. The two teams will meet again next week for three games in the Flower City 5/31-6/2.
Today's Starter
RHP Jacob Waguespack gets the ball tonight for his ninth start in 2019. The right handed hurler currently leads the team in strikeouts with 43 on the season. He will look to add to that number facing a Rochester team who currently sits with the 4th most strikeouts in the International League. Waguespack's last start came on 5/15 against Gwinnett where he took the loss allowing three earned runs in seven innings pitched.
Teoscar Hernandez
OF Teoscar Hernandez continues to produce after joining the Bisons, adding to both his RBI and hits total last night against Rochester. Hernandez finished 1-3 with a walk and now has four RBIs in four games played with the Herd.
Jordan Patterson
Jordan Patterson helped push Buffalo to the vistory last night after finishing 1-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Along with his two RBIs, he also circled the bases once scoring a run. Patterson's double in the eight inning was his only hit of the ball game and brings him to eight doubles on the season.
Shutouts
Last night marked the first shutout win of the season for the Bisons. They have been blanked once this season as well, 4/23 at Syracuse, 2-0.
Blue Jays Update
Toronto (20-28) got back in the win column last night against the Red Sox, winning 10-3. Rowdy Tellez had a big night for the Blue Jays, hitting two homeruns off Eduardo Rodriguez and collecting five RBIs. Randal Grichuk showed off his power, hitting back to back homeruns in the eighth following Tellez. Toronto continues their four game series at home tonight at 7:07.
