Today's Game

This evening, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the final game of a four-game series that spans three days. It is Buffalo's last trip to McCoy Stadium in 2018. Following this series in Rhode Island, the Herd will return to Coca-Cola Field to host the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (6/22-6/25) and PawSox (6/26-6/28).

Last Night's Game: BUF 2, PAW 10

RHP Nick Tepesch made his second start of 2018 with the Bisons. Tepesch threw 2.2IP while allowing 6H, 5R, 4ER. The Bisons were unable to recover after giving up three quick runs in the first inning. The Pawtucket pitching staff kept the Herd lineup quiet most of the night, as Buffalo was only able to scrape out two runs in the contest. C Danny Jansen continued his hot hitting, accounting for both Bisons' runs with his two-run blast in the ninth. He also collected two of the team's three hits in the loss.

Pawtucket (5-6)

The Bisons and Red Sox will play a total of 20 times this season. Buffalo last played Pawtucket May 14-16 in a rain shortened two game series at McCoy Stadium. The two teams each won a game, keeping the season series tied at four. C Danny Jansen has gone 17-35 (.486) with eight extra-base hits and also has a .579OBP in the eleven games against the PawSox this season.

Today's Starter: RHP Sean Reid-Foley

RHP Sean Reid-Foley will make his sixth start of the season for the Bisons. In his last outing against Rochester, Reid-Foley went a season high 7.1IP, allowing only a run and four hits while striking out seven. The righty has two straight quality starts, and looks to add another today against division rival Pawtucket. Reid-Foley has struck out at least seven batters in three of his five starts this season.

Anthony Alford

OF Anthony Alford picked up one of the Bisons' three hits last night in Pawtucket. Alford was one of the bright spots for the Herd, ending the night 1-3, SB, BB. The stolen base was Alford's seventh of the season, and he now sits third on the Bisons' trailing only Roemon Fields and Tim Lopes.

Danny Jansen

C Danny Jansen continues to tear the cover off the ball in his first full Triple-A season. Last night in Pawtucket, Jansen went 2-4 with a two-run home run that were the lone runs for the Herd. The Bison backstop now ranks fifth in the IL with a .495 slugging percentage and second in IL OBP(.416). Thanks to these high marks, Jansen leads the IL in OPS by a wide margin with combined .910 on-base plus slugging. Jansen currently also leads International League catchers in All-Star voting.

Bisons' Bits

Buffalo leads the International League in stolen bases by a wide margin with 66 SB on the season. The young, athletic team looks to make a postseason push as the second half of the season approaches. The Herd is 8-2 in doubleheader games this season.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (34-39) came out victorious yesterday against the Atlanta Braves 5-4, splitting the two-game set. LHP J.A. Happ tossed 8.1IP, 6H, 4R/ER, 8K and picked up the win. The Blue Jays now start their west coast road-trip, beginning with a showdown against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. RHP Aaron Sanchez will get the ball tonight for the Blue Jays (10:07 p.m.). After their 3-game series with the Angels, the Jays will face off against the red-hot Houston Astros.
