Montgomery Biscuits News Release
MONTGOMERY, A.L. -The Smokies (1-1, 33-39) fall to Montgomery (1-1, 34-38) 1-0, at Riverwalk Stadium in an old faction pitchers duel. Starters Marco Carrillo and Brandon Mann were excellent but the Biscuits scored the games only run in the seventh and held on.
Brandon Mann went the first 6 2/3 innings for Montgomery in the start. He didn't factor in the games decision but shutout the Smokies on four hits with six strikeouts.
Marco Carrillo (1-5) pitched 6 innings plus in the start Tuesday Night. He allowed one run on just three singles but walked three with five strikeouts in taking the loss.
Montgomery drew two base-on-balls to start the seventh inning and would later have runners on first and third with one away for Nevin Ashley. Ashley then singled to centerfield scoring Cesar Suarez and giving the Biscuits a 1-0 lead.
