Biscuits Lose in 24th One-Run Game of the Season

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Biscuits (24-28) went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position to lose their 24th one-run game of the season 4-3 to the Jacksonville Suns (21-31) Wednesday afternoon at the Baseball Grounds.

The Biscuits led 2-0 leading into the fourth inning. Viosergy Rosa drove in Carlos Lopez who doubled to start the inning to make it a 2-1 game. A few batters later Matt Juenge hit a two-run home run to give the Suns their first lead of the game.

The Biscuits tied things up at three with a sacrifice fly from Johnny Field in the fifth inning, but went on to strand a couple of runners in scoring position to keep the game tied. The Suns took the lead for good in the seventh inning when a wild pitch from Mark Sappington (2-4) - his second of the inning - allowed Zack Cox to score from third.

The Biscuits jumped out early with two runs in the first inning by taking advantage of three errors from the Suns.

Boog Powell led the way offensively going 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored and a stolen base.

Game four of the series is Thursday night at 6:05 CT. The reigning Southern League Pitcher of the Month, LH Blake Snell will be on the hill for Montgomery while the Suns will have RH Trevor Williams on the mound.
