Biscuits Cruise to Victory, Snap Skid

JACKSON, Tenn. - The Biscuits (61-64, 24-31) snapped a six-game losing streak and finished their ten-game road trip 2-8 with an 8-2 win over the Jackson Generals (54-64, 25-27) Saturday night at the Ballpark in Jackson.

The Biscuits scored in barrages throughout the game. Mayo Acosta and Kyeong Kang hit consecutive-doubles in the second inning to give the Biscuits a 1-0 lead. Mikie Mathook and Curt Casali then hit back-to-back jacks in the third inning to make it 3-0.

Montgomery added three runs in the fifth inning, one in the seventh and one in the eighth while the Generals got their only run in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly.

Four Biscuits finished with multiple hits while three finished with multiple RBI. Kang went 4-for-5 with three RBI. Mahtook had two hits with two RBI and two runs. Casali also collected two hits while driving in three and scoring twice.

Marquis Fleming (4-6) allowed one run through five innings while matching a career-high with seven strikeouts for the win.

The Biscuits will start a ten-game home stand on Sunday with game one of a five-game set against the Mississippi Braves. The Biscuits will have RHP Victor Mateo on the hill while the Braves will send RHP Aaron Northcraft to the mound.
