PEARL, MS - Four Mississippi Braves (52-64) pitchers combined to three-hit the Biscuits (60-56), sending Montgomery to their third straight loss, 5-3 Friday at Trustmark Park.

After the Braves plated one in the first, Craig Albernaz scored a pair with a two-out single in the second to put the Biscuits up 2-1. But the lead would be short-lived. Mauro Gomez smashed a three-run blast to left off Biscuits starter Justin Garcia in the third to put the Braves up for good.

They added insurance in the fourth, and held off a Biscuits threat in the ninth, with Juan Abreu striking out the potential tying run, Drew Anderson, to end things.

Braves starter Tyrelle Harris allowed a pair of runs on two hits over four innings. Yeliar Castro (1-1), Benino Pruneda, and Abreu combined to allow just one hit over five relief innings.

The Biscuits had chances in the middle innings, thanks in large part to eight walks. Henry Wrigley grounded into a double play to end the fourth with the bases loaded, and the Biscuits left runners at first and second in the fifth.

Jose Ruiz led the Biscuits by going 2-3 with a walk.

The Biscuits are now 2-4 on the road trip, and 7-17 since a 5-game win streak to begin the second half. They sit 2.5 back of Mobile in the wild card hunt.

LHP Alex Torres will start for the Biscuits at 7:05 on Saturday against Mississippi's RHP Kyle Coefield.
