Double-Header Postponed on Friday

HUNTSVILLE, ALA. (August 13, 2010) - For the second consecutive day, the opener of a five-game series in Huntsville, AL, against the Huntsville Stars has been postponed due to rain and stadium damage. The scheduled double-header that was set to begin at 5:00 PM today has been postponed. There will be a double-header, featuring two seven inning games on Saturday at Joe Davis Stadium, with first pitch of game one set for 5:00 PM. There will also be a double-header on Sunday with the times to be determined.

After flash flooding and thunder showers came through Huntsville around 3:00 PM on Friday, the field and dugouts were once again flooded. This is a pivotal series with playoff ramifications, thus they must be played.

The Diamond Jaxx are 22-24 in the second half and 61-54 overall with 24 games remaining in the season. The Jaxx are in front of the Huntsville Stars in the wildcard standings by 4.5 games. The pitching matchup in game one Saturday will feature for the Jaxx, LHP Anthony Vasquez (0-2, 2.92) and RHP Michael Bowman (8-9, 5.84) for the Stars. In game two, the Jaxx will send out RHP Steve Bray (7-7, 4.40) and LHP Chris Cody (6-7, 4.45) for Huntsville.

The Diamond Jaxx will return to Pringles Park on Wednesday, August 18th to open a five-game series in four days against the Jacksonville Suns. Fans can purchase tickets online at diamonjaxx.com or by calling the Pringles Park box office Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm at 731-988-JAXX.
