Birmingham Breaks Even in Texas Two-Step

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Texas Legends (2-3) split their trip to Birmingham with a 121-134 loss to the Squadron (4-1) Tuesday night.

The teams exchanged leads 18 times in the first half with the Squadron taking the final edge with seconds left. Greg Brown III hit a buzzer-beater from outside but the Legends went into halftime down 70-71. The home team maintained the lead through the third, but Texas stayed within single digits. Early in the fourth Malcolm Hill powered out seven quick points to help the Squadron on an 11-0 run building a 13-point gap. Texas pulled within six with 2:33 to play, but Dereon Seabron and Devin Cannady used that time to grab five points apiece and seal the series-tying victory.

Brown contributed across the board with team highs in points (26) and blocks (7) along with 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Jelly Walker knocked down 6-of-9 outside for 20 points, 8 assists, and Dexter Dennis finished with 17 points, 4 rebounds.

Seabron had a game-high 37 points and 11 assists for the Squadron while Hill contributed 24 points, 8 rebounds. Izaiah Brockington finished with 17 points and 9 rebounds off the bench.
