St. Joseph, MO - The Sioux Falls Canaires (11-15) again made a late comeback only to have a potential win taken from them, as the St. Joe Blacksnakes (13-13) blew a 2-1 lead in the top of the ninth only to win the game, 3-2, on a double by Denver Kitch in the bottom of the inning.

The Blacksnakes scored out of the gate. Scooter Jordan walked and stole second base. Ben Thomas bunted Jordan to third and Cory Harris brought him home with a sacrifice fly to give St. Joe a 1-0 lead.

The Canaries tied the game in the fourth. With one out, Abner Arroyo singled and advanced to second on a walk by Bubba Smith. Dennis Anderson followed with a groundball to second base. Second baseman Jake Whitesides threw the ball to shortstop Jimmy Mojica for an out at second base, but Mojica threw the ball away trying to turn a double play. The error allowed Arroyo to score and tie the game, 1-1.

The Snakes went ahead in the sixth. Scooter Jordan walked and advanced to third on a pair of wild pitches. Cory Harris recored his second RBI of the night, doubling home Jordan to put St. Joe back in front, 2-1.

The Canaries rallied against Blacksnakes closer Jamie Tricaglou to tie the game in the top of the ninth. Abner Arroyo led off with a double, and Bubba Smith followed with a double to score Arroyo and tie the game, 2-2.

However, the Blacksnakes would come away with the win in the bottom of the ninth. Wil Quintana walked, and with two outs Denver Kitch doubled down the right field line to score Quintana from first for the game-winning run.

Canaries starter Aaron Garrison allowed two runs on three hits, six walks, and five strikeouts in 7.1 innings pitched. Blacksnakes Starter Andrew Edwards allowed just one unearned run on three hits, three walks, and four strikeouts. Neither starter factored into the decision as Jamie Tricaglou (5-3) got the win for the Snakes and Lenny Bays (1-3) suffered the loss for the Canaries.
