Windsor Spitfires News Release
(Sault Ste Marie, ON) - Bradley Latour scored the game winner and added an insurance marker in the game's final 90 seconds, as the Spitfires earned a 5-3, comeback win over the Greyhounds in Sunday matinee action at the Essar Centre.
Mario Culina made 33 saves, earning the victory in his first Ontario Hockey League start in his hometown and the third in a row for a Windsor (29-12-5-0) club that now owns a nine-point lead atop the West Division.
After falling behind 2-0 in the opening 20 minutes, goals from Logan Brown (8) and Aaron Luchuk (22) got the Spitfires back to even headed into the third.
Brendan Lemieux (26) and Liam Hawel exchanged goals, sending the game into the final moments of regulation tied at 3-3, before Latour put the Spits ahead for good at 18:38.
The 20-year-old winger's 17th of the year into an empty net iced the game at 19:57.
The Spits will take Monday and Tuesday off, before preparations begin for a stretch of three games in three nights - at Kitchener (Friday), versus London (Saturday) and versus Sarnia (Sunday) at the WFCU Centre.
