HAMILTON, Ontario - The Hamilton Bulldogs (17-24-4-0) had their four game point streak snapped by the Oshawa Generals (17-23-3-3) after a 5-2 loss at the General Motors Centre.
The Generals opened the scoring just 2:20 into the first period when Kenny Huether scored his 17th of the season. The power play goal was set up by Joe Manchurek and Mitchell Vande Sompel.
Oshawa took a two goal lead 8:10 into the second period when Huether scored his second of the game and 18th of the season from Anthony Cirelli and Sullivan Sparkes.
The lead was increased to 3-0 just 11 seconds later as Stephen Templeton scored his 1st OHL goal of his career.
The Generals scored again at 11:46 of the period when Eric Henderson deposited a Robbie Burt pass into the Hamilton net to make it 4-0.
Connor Walters scored the Bulldogs first of the game 4:44 into the third period when he fired a shot into the top corner of the Oshawa net. Matt Luff and Luke Kutkevicious picked up the assists on the power play goal.
Oshawa regained the four goal lead as Domenic Commisso made it 5-1 at 6:28 of the third. Hamilton's Jack Hidi added a goal at 16:06 to wrap up the scoring. Defenceman Cole Candella was awarded the lone assist on the play.
The Bulldogs are back in action Friday night when they take on the Mississauga Steelheads at the Hershey Centre. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm. The Bulldogs are back at home on Saturday, January 30th to take on those same Generals. Puck drop is 7:00pm.
