Windsor Spitfires News Release
(Sault Ste Marie, ON) - Anthony DeAngelo had a pair of goals and the home side scored four times in the third period, as the Greyhounds beat the Spitfires 5-3 at the Essar Centre on Friday night.
Slater Doggett (20), Cristiano DiGiacinto (18) and Logan Brown (17) had the Windsor (24-31-2-1) goals, as the Spits failed to capitalize on a Saginaw loss to the Ottawa 67s.
The loss leaves the Spits and Spirit even in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, with just 10 regular season games to play.
Brendan Johnston was outstanding in goal, making 41 saves in a losing cause, while Brandon Halverson made 22 for his 33rd win of the season.
The Spits are back in action Sunday, as they host the Sarnia Sting at the WFCU Centre (2:05).
