WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - Johan Rojas had two hits, a home run, two walks, and stole his 30th base of the year, but it wasn't enough as Hudson Valley used a six run sixth inning to down the BlueClaws on Sunday at Dutchess Stadium.

The Renegades (28-29) took four of seven from Jersey Shore (22-34) this week, including the last two games of the series.

Andrew Painter, the Phillies first-round pick in 2021, made his Jersey Shore debut and struck out the side in the first inning.

After a scoreless second inning, however, the Renegades broke through in the third. Aaron Palensky (4) took Painter deep for the first run before Spencer Henson singled in a run. A bases loaded walk to Tyler Hardman made it 3-1. Painter came out after allowing three runs in three innings with four strikeouts.

The BlueClaws, however, came back to take the lead. Rojas tied the game in the fourth with his second home run of the season, and Carlos De La Cruz put Jersey Shore in front with an RBI single in the top half of the fifth inning. Eric Wagaman tied the game with an RBI double in the fifth off JP Woodward, setting the stage for the six run sixth.

Andrew Baker (2-1) was charged with all six runs, which started with a two run single from Trey Sweeney. Saul Torres added an RBI triple and Eric Wagaman (6) hit a two run home run to cap the inning and make it 10-4.

Rixon Wingrove (4), homered for the BlueClaws in the eighth. Wingrove has hit four home runs since joining the BlueClaws on May 24th. Uziel Viloria added an RBI single in the ninth. The BlueClaws had the tying run at the plate but Rojas popped out to end the inning.

Rojas stole his 30th base of the season earlier in the game. He still hasn't been caught this year and is fifth in the minors in steals. In addition to Rojas' two hits, Ethan Wilson, Wingrove, DJ Stewart, and De La Cruz all had two hits for Jersey Shore while Wingrove drove in three runs.

Carlos Francisco and Jonathan Hughes each threw scoreless innings in relief for the BlueClaws.

The BlueClaws return home on Tuesday night to welcome in Aberdeen for a series that runs through Sunday.
