SAUGET, Ill. - After jumping out to a 4-1 lead after five innings of play, the Grizzlies were hurt by a four-run seventh inning rally applied by the Road Warriors that served Gateway the eventual 5-4 loss at GCS Ballpark on Wednesday.

The Road Warriors (3-5) batted around in the seventh inning, to post the go ahead run.

Grizzlies starter Brett Zawacki (1-1) threw six and a third innings, allowing four earned runs on five hits in a no decision before reliever Phillip Reamy (4-2) entered the contest in the seventh frame. Reamy, who was charged the loss, surrendered one run on one hit and walked two.

Meanwhile, Jared Christiansen (1-1) notched the win for the Road Warriors, throwing one and a third innings of two hit baseball with a walk, strikeout, and no earned runs in relief.

At the plate, it was Jon Myers (2-for-4) who accounted for much of the Gateway (39-29) offense, supplying a pair of the club's six hits on the night.

"Right now we need to focus on tomorrow," Myers said. "We are all about winning series right now, and that is exactly what we have a chance to do. No worries, just focus."

Myers, now hitting .264 in 2012, sent his team-leading 13th homerun out of GCS Ballpark in front of 2,347 fans who witnessed the 5-4 heartbreaker. Fellow outfielder Rogelio Noris also aided at the plate, batting 1-for-4 with a two-RBI double.

Gateway, who has won seven-straight series, will turn to righty Chris Enourato (3-3) to claim the set. Game time is set for 7:05 PM Thursday night.
