Bickell Recalled To Hawks, Tanguay Joins Hogs, Rockford Faces Milwaukee

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Stan Bowman announced on Saturday that the National Hockey League club has recalled left wing Bryan Bickell from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

The IceHogs have recalled center Maxime Tanguay from the Toledo Walleye (ECHL), Blackhawks General Manger of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard also announced.

Bickell, 23, has skated in 12 games with Chicago in 2009-10, recording a goal and an assist. The Orono, Ontario native has 11 goals and 10 assists in 44 games with Rockford this season, including two goals and four assists over his last three games.

Tanguay, 21, has appeared in four games with the IceHogs this season, recording an assist. The Ste. Justine, Quebec native is tied for the team lead with 46 points (17g-28a) in 43 games in his first professional season with the Toledo Walleye.

Rockford can tip season series in its favor

Rockford, Ill.- The hard part is over.

After taking the front end of their series with the Milwaukee Admirals 4-2 at the Bradley Center last night, the West Division-leading IceHogs can sweep the home-and-home series tonight when the Ads visit the MetroCentre.

The game also kicks off a four-game homestand for the Hogs. Tickets for all their home games are available at the Rockford MetroCentre Box Office. You can also call (815) 968-5222 or visit www.metrocentre.com. Individual game tickets are also available at Hog Headquarters at CherryVale Mall.

The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The game can be heard on 1330 AM WNTA or at www.wnta.com. It can be seen on Rockford Comcast Channel 57or at www.ahllive.com for $7.

Due to circumstances out of the Rockford IceHogs' control, the Mr. Potato Head giveaways slated for tonight's game will not be here in time for the game. The Mr. Potato Heads, which comes with a special IceHogs jersey, are expected to arrive by the March 19 game against the Peoria Rivermen at the MetroCentre.

IceHogs staff and the Fire & Ice Girls promotions team will be handing out vouchers for a Mr. Potato Head on Saturday for the first 2,500 fans along with a coupon for a discounted ticket for either the March 19 or March 20 game. Purchase of an additional game ticket is not required to pick up a Mr. Potato Head on that weekend.

Rockford (29-19-1-5 - 64 points, first place in West Division) built a 3-1 lead on Jake Dowell's rebound goal 13:46 into the second period. After Hugh Jessiman got Milwaukee (29-19-1-5 - 64 points, fourth place in West Division) back within one, Richard Petiot's empty-netter with 16 seconds left halted the Ads' comeback. Corey Crawford stopped 27 of 29 shots to get the win for the Hogs.

With the win, Rockford's first at the Bradley Center this season, the Hogs pulled even in the 10-game season series and are 3-3-0-0 through six contests.

Next Home Game: Monday, Feb. 15 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins: the puck drops at 2:05 p.m. It's a Kids' Day Game presented by Best Buy and also sponsored by the Rock River Chapter of the American Red Cross and FOX 39. The first 3,000 fans to enter the building will receive a goalie mask replica. All kids 14 and under can purchase $5 tickets and the IceHogs along with Best Buy will be giving 10 game systems including five Wiis and five Playstation 3s. All high school and college students with a valid student ID can purchase the best available seat for just $10 at the MetroCentre's Box Office up to one hour prior to the game with the WXRX Student Rush program.
