Berkhoel, Gladiators Shuts Out Everblades, 3-0

Adam Berkhoel made 28 saves to post his first shutout of the season as the Gwinnett Gladiators knocked off the Florida Everblades 3-0 on Tuesday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

The Gladiators capitalized on the power play late in the first period to take a 1-0 lead. Mike Vigilante flipped a rebound from Florida netminder Tyler MacKay over the outstretched goalie at 15:17 of the first period. Chris Durno tipped Randy Dagenais' slap shot from the point as both picked up assists on the goal.

Lane Manson extended the Gladiators lead to 2-0 ripping a snapshot from the high slot, 25 feet out, beating MacKay to the blocker side. Peter Flache and Chris Durno picked up the helpers on the tally at 4:23 of the second period.

Alex Sawruk rounded out the scoring stuffing home a centering pass from Cam Brown just 26 seconds into the final period. Manson added an assist on the play shoveling the puck ahead to Brown waiting in the neutral zone.

Gwinnett went 1-for-4 on the power play in the win as they improve to 22-14-7 on the season.

The Gladiators return to action tomorrow night as the travel to Charlotte for a 7:00 p.m. tilt at the Cricket Arena.
