Dzieduszycki named runner up for ECHL Player of the Week

Augusta Lynx forward Matt Dzieduszycki has been named runner-up for In Glas Co. ECHL Player of the Week honors for February 7-13, the league announced today.

The 24 year-old left wing notched four goals and an assist in three games this week and an even rating. He registered a goal and an assist against Florida in Augusta's 2-1 win Friday night, with his shorthanded marker starting the scoring for the Lynx. Dzieduszycki then added an assist on Jamie Johnson's game winning goal later in the contest. Sunday against Charlotte, the Mississauga, Ontario native dropped a hat trick on the Checkers by scoring twice on the power play and adding an empty net tally to ice a 6-4 win for the Lynx.

Overall on the week, Augusta finished 2-0-1 in three games. Charlotte winger Dusty Jamieson was named to In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week honors with seven goals and eight points in five games to help the Checkers go 3-1-1 this week. Charlotte's only loss was Sunday against Augusta.

The Lynx are back in action this weekend against the Greenville Grrrowl on Friday night, followed by the Pee Dee Pride on Saturday. Both games are slated for 7:35 pm start times, with pre-game show kicking off one half-hour before game time on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
