EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips recalibrated after a late Spokane rally to earn a 5-4 shootout victory at Angel of the Winds Arena Sunday night.

Jesse Heslop opened the scoring at 3:51 in the first, as a seemingly harmless shot from the left-wing boards snuck past netminder Dawson Cowan. Heslop netted his second of the game at 7:42, tucking in a rebound at the post for his 11th of the year.

Kaden Hammell added a goal on a delayed penalty at 11:31 in the opening frame for his seventh of the year and a 3-0 Everett lead after one.

Cade Hayes got the Chiefs on the board 1:17 into the second period with his 21st of the year, shortly followed by a Jake Gudelj goal at 3:29 to cut the lead to 3-2 after two.

Roan Woodward extended the Silvertips' lead to 4-2 at 6:32 in the third period on a wraparound goal. Spokane struck twice in the final minute of regulation, with Chase Bertholet and Tommaso De Luca scoring with the net empty to force overtime.

Jackson Berezowski scored the lone tally in the shootout with Tyler Palmer making three saves to earn the 5-4 victory. Palmer stopped 25 of 29 in regulation and overtime for the win.
