
Cougars Secure Third Consecutive Victory with 6-3 Victory in Victoria

VICTORIA BC - The Prince George Cougars collected their third consecutive win on their four-game road trip with a 6-3 victory over the Victoria Royals on Saturday at the Save on Foods Memorial Centre.
Koehn Ziemmer and Carlin Dezainde both scored twice, while Chase Wheatcroft and Zac Funk added singles in the win. Ty Young earned his 14th win of the season, making 25 saves.
The Cougars started the scoring at the 5:44 mark with Koehn Ziemmer shoveling one by Nicholas Christiano to make it 1-0 PG. Just over 6 minutes later, Chase Wheatcroft danced his way to the goal and scored another highlight reel marker to make it 2-0 at 11"48. The Royals came back with one of their own when Riley Gannon wristed a shot by Ty Young to make it 2-1. The Cougars, however, would regain the lead in a hurry. Carlin Dezainde hammered home in a rebound in tight to make it 3-1 at 16:16.
Prince George added to their lead in the 2nd when Koehn Ziemmer (6:30), Zac Funk (12:26), and Carlin Deazinde (19:18) all chipped in to make it 6-1 Cougars. Victoria cut into the lead with Bradyen Schuurman scoring right off a face-off in the final seconds to make it 6-2 after 2.
In the third, Victoria got a tip in goal from Alex Thacker to make it 6-3, but that was as close as the Royals would come. The Cougars win their third straight game on the four-game road trip.
