Beloit, WI - A stellar start by left-hander Jimmy Gillheeney couldn't help the Clinton LumberKings take the game on Sunday at Pohlman Field as Beloit scored three times against right-hander Brandon Josselyn in the eighth and hung on for a 3-0 win.

Gillheeney set career highs for innings (6.2) and strikeouts (8), scattering three hits and two walks. However, the LumberKings couldn't touch Snappers right-hander Liam Hendriks or left-hander Edgar Ibarra.

With Josselyn on in the eighth, Anderson Hidalgo lined a single to left. Following a sacrifice bunt and a walk to Wang Wei Lin, Brian Dozier slapped a single to right-center, plating the game-winner. Lin scored on a groundout by Steven Liddle for insurance, and a passed ball charged to catcher Steven Baron plated the third and final tally.

Hendriks fired 6.0 scoreless innings for the Snappers, striking out eight while allowing only four hits. Ibarra (W, 2-1) finished the shutout with 3.0 scoreless innings and three strikeouts.

Hidalgo went 3-for-3 for Beloit, scoring the game-winning run. No other player for either side had more than one hit.

The LumberKings (5-6) and Snappers (6-5) conclude the series with morning baseball at Pohlman Field tomorrow, first pitch scheduled for 11:00 AM. Left-hander Anthony Vasquez (0-1, 1.69) makes his third start of the season. Listen to the game on AM 1390 KCLN or www.lumberkings.com.
