Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

The Quad Cities River Bandits took the second game of three with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 4-3, to secure their fourth straight series win.

Pitching led the way for the River Bandits in Scott Schneider's (2-0) second start of the season. The right hander went five innings, with eight punchouts and allowed just one run on a solo home run from Chris Dennis to earn his second win of the season. He allowed just three hits and left a three run cushion for his tandem piggyback partner Deryk Hooker. Hooker pitched three scoreless to earn his second hold of the season. He struck out three and allowed just two hits. Aaron Terry (3) closed things out in the ninth. Terry allowed two runs on two hits, Cameron Garfield hit a two-run shot in the top of the ninth to make it a one run game, but Terry was able to set down the final two batters to record his third save of the year. Maverick Lasker (0-1) was saddled with the loss after allowing all four Bandit runs in five innings.

Offensively, the Bandits continued to swing hot bats. Ryan Jackson led the way going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Jackson also scored a run for Quad Cities. D'Marcus Ingram and Ryde Rodriguez each drove in a run, and Jason Stidham brought Jackson home when he reached on an error in the third inning. Matt Adams recorded his fourth multi-hit game of the season going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

The River Bandits look to sweep the series with the Timber Rattlers in tomorrow's morning match up. It will be a contest between right-handers as Wisconsin's Nick Bucci (0-0) will take the mound to face off with the Bandits' Eric Fornataro (1-1). Gates will open at 9:30 a.m. with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m. at Modern Woodmen Park.

ABOUT THE BANDITS: The Quad Cities River Bandits open the 2010 season by unveiling their brand new state-of-the-art field, which not only looks fantastic but should also minimize the number of rainouts this year. The team set a new post-renovation mark for single-season attendance in 2009, as 236,401 fans passed through the turnstiles for an average of 3,694 fans per game. Both figures marked the highest since 1995, while the average attendance was the third highest in franchise history and the total attendance was the fifth highest all-time. The total attendance was up 14 percent over the 2008 season, continuing a 59 percent attendance increase since Main St. Iowa purchased the franchise following the 2007 season. Ticket sales, concessions, merchandise sales, sponsorships and even Kids' Zone revenues were all up over 2008, which was one of the team's best in history! Season and group ticket deposits for 2010 are currently being accepted.
