
Bees' Paulino Named MWL Pitcher of the Week

Burlington, IA (July 14, 2008) - Bees pitcher Eduardo Paulino was named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending July 13th, it was announced today. Paulino, a right-handed pitcher from Nagua, Dominican Republic, went 1-0 on the mound for the Bees this past week without allowing a run in 8.2 innings pitched. He allowed only three hits and one walk while striking out nine batters. In his start against Clinton on Monday, Paulino went eight shutout innings in a 15-0 win. He also started the game on Sunday in Lansing, but after striking out the first two batters, he had to leave the game because of an injury. For the season, Paulino is 5-4 with a 3.68 ERA. His 100.1 innings pitched and 80 strikeouts both rank second on the team. The Bees continue their road trip after a day off Tuesday. They will start a 3-game series at Quad Cities starting Wednesday before returning home Saturday to take on West Michigan for Jimmy Buffett Night. First pitch will be at 6:30pm.
