Salt Lake Bees News Release

The Tacoma Rainiers rallied with four runs over the last three innings to edge the Salt Lake Bees 5-4 on Monday night. Tacoma scored one in the seventh and one in the eighth to close to within one run and then tied the game when Mike Carp led off the ninth with a homerun off of Salt Lake closer Rafael Rodriguez (1-2). Greg Halman followed with a single and was bunted to second by Ryan Langerhans. Halman then came home with the eventual winning run on a single to center by Josh Bard.

The Tacoma comeback spoiled a solid outing by Bees starter Sean O'Sullivan, who allowed just two runs on three hits in six and two-third innings. Terry Evans led Salt Lake with two hits and one run batted in, while Peter Bourjos added a pair of hits to stretch his hitting streak to nine games. Michael Ryan delivered an RBI single in the first inning to extend his streak to 10 games. The Rainiers took three out of four over the Bees to give Tacoma its first series win in Salt Lake City since June of 2005.
