Salt Lake Bees News Release
The Salt Lake Bees were swept in a doubleheader on Friday night at Smith's Ballpark losing 8-4 and 5-2.
In game one the Bees trailed 4-3 heading to the sixth inning before Chad Wallach tied things up by scoring on a wild pitch. The Aces broke the game open with a four-run final frame off Jimmy Herget making his Bees debut. Michael Stefanic led the Bees offense with a three-hit game. Luis Rengifo walked three times and Jose Rojas collected a pair of hits.
The Bees were held scoreless until plating a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to get within a run, but Reno would put the game away with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh. Kyle Tyler took a hard luck loss allowing one run over four innings while striking out seven for the Bees. The late runs kept the Salt Lake streak of 109 consecutive games without being shutout. The Bees are one of two Minor League teams that have not been shutout this season.
The Bees and Aces will play game three of the series tomorrow night with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. with fireworks postgame.
